Tuesday saw us covering the main catwalk show on EMT and, happily, I was to interview one of the organisers - Simeon - and one of my favourites @DanielAHanson (the well-known Nottingham fashion designer whose clients include royalty and stars of stage and screen). Not only that but I managed to put a large black tick in one of my bucket list boxes - a front row seat at the catwalk show!! But what do you wear to a fashion show? In the end, having to combine it with work too, I opted for my only-worn-once Diane Von Furstenberg (@DVF) wrap. I'm not sure it's that flattering on me but I love a sticky-out...
It's a funny old job sometimes. Sitting in front of a picture of a giant hedgehog. But someone has to do it!! The outfit doesn't shout prickles but it's a fave. Actually, I spotted it in Red magazine. One of my guilty pleasures is looking at the pictures in fashion mags when I'm at the hairdressers. And that's just where I was. And there IT was. Beautiful blue, bold block colours and my favourite shift shape. So easy to wear AND you don't have to hold your stomach in all the time. It was from @marksandspencer. I admit I was surprised - it looked so very edgy. About a week later I was wheeling...
Double dress detail today owing to a bit of a busy old day yesterday. Talking of yesterday - enter the turquoise Karen Millen (www.karenmillen.com) with M and S (www.marksandspencer.com) white lacy vest and huge heeled Next (www.next.co.uk) nudes. Today, it's an online purchase from River Island (www.riverisland.com) thanks to Anna Church who found it and MADE me buy it!!. Navy Moda in Pelle (www.modainpelle.com) courts and those shiny Wolfords (www.wolfordshop.co.uk), worth every penny for their super non-ladder capability! All a couple of years old I do believe!
Nike-d to the gunnels and never knowingly understated it's a neon visit to H3 gym (@H3Performance) for my workout with Edwards Performance (@PeteEdw). Then work and, with no late news, my old staple black and white can make an appearance from a forgotten corner of the wardrobe. The shirt is an old Sticky Fingers one. Just love his stuff. He was an old friend of an ex husband and so I was lucky enough to have free rein every now and again in his warehouse on the banks of a London canal. Mind you an interesting occurrence at the dry cleaners resulted in the frilly edges in the once smooth fabric...
Today's outfit for @bbcemt. @marksandspencer silky vest top, @IssaLondon dress that was seen and remembered for months before going into the sale and so becoming just about affordable!! The tights were bought in an Italian market on the banks of Lake Garda - cheap and gorgeous and the most extraordinary unplanned match with the dress. The little boots were another TK Max bargain years ago (@RobertClergerie) reduced from hundreds to just £40. Don't you just love a bargain!!!
Lose 10lbs in a morning!! And this is how you do it. First get ready, then put on all the clothes you don't want anymore and take them to Rainbows Hospice charity shop (www.rainbows.co.uk). So that's just what I did for their new publicity campaign to encourage people to donate goods and so help them raise money for the most incredible children's hospice in the Midlands. Had to stop myself buying as many clothes as I took in though!! What did I wear for the shoot? Thought I needed a good base to pile more clothes on top, so opted for my black Tu Sainsburys leggings, white lacy TU Sainsburys...
It's a three outfit day today. A gym workout, filming attire PLUS work. As my lovely trainers tell me - I have all the gear and none of the.......!! Who cares I try!! These are my faves: A Nike pair of neon trainers and Nike pants. The top was a present years ago and it's true - I will work for shoes!! I do have more (needless to say) but this is today's gear. And for tonight's programme it's a blue lace Phase Eight (www.phase-eight.com) dress which I bought online about a year ago I think and a pair of navy patent Moda in Pelle (www.modainpelle.com) shoes. For filming with the lovely TWO Michelin...
Hoorah. The sun is out. Spring is on the way. It's still a long late news today so a pale colour is preferable because of the darker set. This was a sale bargain at the end of the summer. A half price pink Whistles (www.whistles.com) dress. So easy to wear with a silky swing in the flared skirt. Hopefully the metal necklace (from @marksandspencer) will work. The dress is a bit plain without something and I don't really want to go to pearls - just a bit too mumsy with this dress. It's so feminine it needs beefing up a bit with something altogether more chunky. The scarf won't make it onto the sofa...
With wall to wall grey...and top to bottom grey ....it's a day for a little bit of colour. Not only to lift the spirits but also to deal with our new longer late news set. The set is quite dark, therefore really needing some lighter-look clothing, but it also requires more TV hardware i.e. microphone pack and talkback pack (the former so you can hear me and the latter so I can hear the director, producer and BA - more to follow on this). So, a shift style dress means you can hide a multitude of sins underneath it!! Lets go for a spot of pink in the form of an old sixties style dress bought from...
